Stagebound runs across five categories — two vocal, two dance, and one for duos. Every category is judged on its own terms, with age groups split fairly so younger performers compete against their peers. Have a read and pick the one that fits.

Solo Vocal

For the singer who steps up alone — one voice, one mic, one moment to make it land.

What we're looking for
  • Vocal control, range, and tone
  • Stage presence and connection with the audience
  • Song choice that suits your voice
  • Confidence in performance — yours, not someone else's
Whether you train weekly with a vocal coach or sing into your phone in your bedroom, this is the category where individual voices get heard.
Group Vocal — Stagebound category
Category

Group Vocal

For choirs, bands, harmony groups and any vocal ensemble of three or more.

What we're looking for
  • Tight harmonies and balance across voices
  • Stagecraft as a unit — moving and performing together
  • Arrangement that shows off the group
  • Energy and chemistry between members
Built for school choirs, youth groups, harmony groups, gospel choirs, and bands with multiple vocalists. Groups can range from 3 to 20.

Solo Dance

For the solo dancer — any style, any background, any age group.

What we're looking for
  • Technique within your chosen style
  • Musicality and timing
  • Choreography that tells a story or builds momentum
  • Performance — owning the stage from start to finish
Contemporary, ballet, street, commercial, hip-hop, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro — every style welcome. Pick the one you do best.
Group Dance — Stagebound category

Group Dance

For crews, troupes, dance schools and any choreographed dance group.

What we're looking for
  • Synchronisation and group precision
  • Choreography that uses the whole stage
  • Visual impact — formations, levels, dynamics
  • Performance as a unit, with chemistry
Perfect for dance school groups, street crews, contemporary troupes, hip-hop teams, and competitive squads. Groups from 3 dancers upwards.
Duo — Stagebound category

Duo

For two performers, singing or dancing — partnerships that work in sync.

What we're looking for
  • Chemistry and connection between the two performers
  • Equal contribution — both performers shine
  • Tight execution, whether harmonised vocals or paired choreography
  • Routine or song that genuinely showcases the duo
Vocal duos, dance partners, sibling acts — anyone performing as a tight two-piece. One specialist category, vocal OR dance.
