A Real Stage
No school halls. No corner-of-the-pub setups. The grand final is hosted at a major Wigan venue with full lights, sound, and production — the kind of stage performers remember for the rest of their lives.
Stagebound is Wigan's first major youth talent competition for singers and dancers under 18 — and it exists for one reason. To give young performers a real stage, in a real venue, in front of a real audience.
For too long, young performers in Wigan and across Greater Manchester have had to leave home to find a stage that takes them seriously. Travel to Manchester. Travel to London. Pay through the nose for competitions that treat them as one-of-thousands.
Stagebound exists to change that. Real auditions. Real judges. Real production. Real prizes. A grand final on a stage worth performing on, in the heart of Wigan, with the kind of audience that makes a young performer feel like every hour of practice mattered.
We're building Stagebound for Summer 2027 — and we're building it for the long term. This isn't a one-off event. It's the start of an annual platform designed to back young talent from this town for years to come.
To build the kind of stage every young performer deserves — and to put it in the heart of Wigan.
Wigan and Greater Manchester are home to thousands of young singers and dancers. What's been missing is a stage built for them, by people who understand what backing local talent really looks like.
Stagebound is a Wigan operation through and through. Run from Wigan, staged in Wigan, with judges and partners drawn from across the North West. The young performers who enter aren't going to be one of thousands — they're going to be the heart of the night.
And it's local on purpose. Every sponsor we work with is a business that wants to back young Wigan talent. Every venue we use is a Wigan venue. Every photo, every social post, every programme — built to celebrate what this town produces.
These aren't bullet points on a brochure — they're the rules we use when we make decisions about how Stagebound runs.
No school halls. No corner-of-the-pub setups. The grand final is hosted at a major Wigan venue with full lights, sound, and production — the kind of stage performers remember for the rest of their lives.
Working vocal coaches, choreographers, performers, music producers and industry professionals from across the North West and beyond. Not friends-of-the-organiser — actual experts who can tell young performers what they're doing well, and what to work on.
The Star Prize is a curated package that genuinely matters — cash, performance equipment, mentorship, and the kind of exposure that can open doors. Every category winner takes home a named trophy. Nobody walks away empty-handed.
Whether you train weekly or sing in your bedroom, you're welcome. Every act gets watched in full and gets honest feedback. Bursary places are available for performers who'd otherwise be priced out. Stagebound is built to be the most accessible competition of its kind in the North West.
Stagebound is led by Lauren — director, sponsorship lead, and the person you'll speak to if you're a business looking to back the competition or a school enquiring about how to take part.
The brand, platform and digital build are by Mako Digital, a Wigan web design studio working alongside us as a long-term technical partner. Judges, hosts, and panel members will be announced closer to audition rounds in 2027.
Whether you want to enter, sponsor, or just keep up with what's happening — drop your name on the list and you'll be the first to know when the next big thing lands.
